Circle Circle, Curvella Circle...

Shape of the Week: Circle
Star of the Day: Eesha

Today we worked more on both Gingerbread Man stories and circles. We listened to The Gingerbread Boy and another version of The Gingerbread Man. We also watched the Circle Hunt video and then practiced singing and doing hand motions to "The Wheels on the Bus".

We also did some practice with working independently at centers. There is a limit of four students per activity, so we used a pocket chart to help keep track of which center students are working at.

After Recess and some time for resting, we jumped into our BIG project for the day: Curvella! Curvella is a character that is used to help children in learning about circles. We created a Curvella puppet, which the students will be bringing home in their Thursday Folder tomorrow. (Then we practiced saying her cheer. It might be fun to help your children recite this cheer at home.) ::

Great site. These students are so cute. I wish I was in kindergarten again.

Dear Miss Wagenaar,

We are soooo happy to have you for our daughter's Kindergarten teacher! This blog is a great idea and allows us to virtually take part in your class. We have sent the link to my wife's family in Japan and my family on the East coast and everybody is enjoying it.

Since our kids just came from Japan a couple of weeks ago and are not able to speak English that well, we were concerned that they would have difficulty getting by in class but after seeing how well they are doing, we are feeling much more confident and deeply appreciate your patience and support.

Why don't you upload your (recent) photo w/ profile ;+)

Regards,
Alana's Parents...
